چکیده

Energetic electron measurements and spacecraft charging are of great significance for theoretical research in space physics weather applications. In this paper, the energetic detection package (EEDP) deployed on three Chinese navigation satellites medium Earth orbit (MEO) is reviewed. The instrument was developed by science payload team led Peking University. EEDP includes a pinhole medium-energy spectrometer (MES), high-energy detector (HED) based ΔE-E telescope technology, deep dielectric monitor (DDCM). MES measures energy spectra 50−600 keV electrons from nine directions with 180°×30° field view (FOV). HED spectrum 0.5−3.0 MeV one direction 30° cone-angle FOV. ground test calibration results indicate that these sensors exhibit excellent performance. Preliminary observations show measured good agreement magnetic electron-ion (MagEIS) Van Allen Probes spacecraft, an average relative deviation 27.3% spectra. currents voltages DDCM during storms consistent HED, demonstrating effectiveness DDCM. board MEO can provide important support radiation belts applications related to weather.

Energetic Ion and Electron Irradiation of the Icy Galilean Satellites

Galileo Orbiter measurements of energetic ions (20 keV to 100 MeV) and electrons (20–700 keV) in Jupiter’s magnetosphere are used, in conjunction with the JPL electron model (<40 MeV), to compute irradiation effects in the surface layers of Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Significant elemental modifications are produced on unshielded surfaces to approximately centimeter depths in times of ≤106 ...

On the Design of Concentric Ring Array for Isoflux Radiation in Meo Satellites Based on Pso

The design of concentric ring arrays for isoflux radiation is presented in this paper. This design considers the reduction of the side lobe level and isoflux radiation requirements for Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites. The optimization problem considers the spacing among rings and levels of amplitude excitations. The well-known method of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is utilized for this...

On-board Geo-database Management in Future Earth Observing Satellites

In order to let the end-users can directly downlink satellite imagery that they specify area of interest (AOI), One of key challenging technologies is how the on-board data distributor autonomously retrieves the imagery according to user’s command as well as simultaneously retrieves the other data sets, such as, temperature, moisture, geographic attribute data, e.g. street name, from other data...

Program Memories Error Detection and Correction On-Board Earth Observation Satellites

Memory Errors Detection and Correction aim to secure the transaction of data between the central processing unit of a satellite onboard computer and its local memory. In this paper, the application of a double-bit error detection and correction method is described and implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. The performance of the proposed EDAC method is measured and comp...

Compression of Multispectral Images On-board Observation Satellites

Compression reduces the amount of data to be sent to ground whilst preserving its content, allowing a lower bit-rate link to be used or more data to be sent over the same link. This paper presents the results of an investigation into image compression methods for multispectral images for use on-board small satellites. Suitable compression methods are described. An error resilience scheme is pro...
